About bellydancer Solène

Solène (Netherlands) is bellydancing since 2006. She was invited to a bellydancelesson by a friend. She was intrigued by this authentic dance! According to Solène bellydance is a manner to get in touch with your femine side and to feel your own strength.  

Solène's teachers are Arya, Sheila (NL, Zutphen) and Aziza (NL, Nijmegen). Solène also participates in a two year education about bellydance (Verdiepingscursus in Utrecht) and she is taking workshops regularly with national and international bellydancers. 

Since July 2011 Solène has a Level 2 certification in the format of Suhaila Salimpour. Solène is experienced in teaching and holds a certificate of teaching methods/didactics. Since June 11th (2011) she is a qualified sports masseuse NGS. This education has a focus on massaging people who sport/train their bodies a lot. In the education that she has done, first aid in case of sportaccidents was included. She is also part of the project group of Leyla Jouvana and will be performing in that group at the Oriental festival in November 2011 in Germany.

Solène has taken workshops and/or lessons from inter alia: Sylvia (NL), Chabbalayla (NL), Maaike Prust (NL), Leyla Jouvana (Germany), Jillina (USA, BDSS), Sonia (USA, BDSS), Mayodi, Petit Jamilla (USA, BDSS), Farouq (NL), Tjarda (NL), Maya (NL), Mariska Assink (NL), Ahlem (NL), Farida (NL), Zeyna (NL), Bozenka (USA, BDSS), Sabriye Tekbilek, Mira Betz (USA), Elena Lentini (USA), Suhaila Salimpour (USA), Rachel Brice (USA), Yazila (NL), Sadie (USA).      

Before Solène discovered bellydancing, she had been taking (and giving) streetdanceclasses and she was a majorette (a marching-girl) for years.
